The V.I. Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation is implementing a Territory-Wide Park Tour and Clean-up. Starting on Friday, April 26, on St. Croix, Sen. Javan E. James Jr. and SP&R will tour and assess several parks. Future assessments of parks on St. Thomas and St. John will commence in May.

Sen. James together with C. Lloyd, who is the director of the Mon Bijou Center, and some members of the community toured the Mon Bijou Park on Wednesday, April 24. They decided to work on beautifying the park.

The senator immediately reached out to St. Croix Administrator Sammuel Sanes, who then contacted the Department of Public Works to assist in removing the debris and heavy items off the property. “It is a pivotal moment for me when I see how various agencies can come together to get the job done for the people of the Virgin Islands,” James said.
