The committee will receive testimony and consider Bill No. 33-0004; take action on Bill No. 33-0014; and receive a status update on the emergency roof repair program.

Bill No. 33-0014 — To amend Section 13 of Act No. 7261 by striking “$7,000,000” and inserting “$10,000,000” and to amend Section 13 of Act No. 7261 of Act No. 8125 by striking “outstanding employer contributions” and inserting “as a direct contribution.” (Proposed by Sen. Donna Frett-Gregory)
Bill No. 33-0004 – An Act amending Title 3, V.I.C., chapter 5, adding subchapter III to enact The Virgin Islands Public Art Program Act requiring one percent of total capital improvement project costs to be expended for works of art placed in government buildings (Proposed by Sen. Myron D. Jackson)

The members of the 33rd Legislature of the Virgin Islands will meet in Committee of the Whole to receive testimony on the following bills and zoning amendments to the various official zoning district maps of St. Thomas-St. John and St. Croix.

Bill No. 33-0015 – An Act amending section 105(f) of Title 22, V.I.C., to satisfy the accreditation standards established by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in its model laws and update the insurance laws of the U.S. Virgin Islands, placing them on par with other United States jurisdictions; thereby, affording greater and more effective protection to the policyholders in the Virgin Islands
Bill No. 33-0016 – An Act amending Title 22, V.I.C., to add a new chapter 20a entitled “The Risk Management and Own Risk and Solvency Assessment Act,” which meets the accreditation standards established by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in its model laws and updates the insurance laws of the U.S. Virgin Islands, placing them on par with other United States jurisdictions; thereby, affording greater and more effective protection to the policyholders in the Virgin Islands

Zoning Application No. ZAJ-19-1 (Frank A. Powell and Nancy Powell-Callwood) – To amend the Official Zoning Map No. SJZ-7 from R-4 (Residential-Medium Density) to B-1 (Business-Central Business District) for Parcel No. 285 Estate Contant and Enighed, Cruz Bay Quarter, St. John
Proposed Use: The applicants’ intent is to relocate a beauty shop and supplies store to the trailer upon the lot.
