Esther Urania Solomon Walcott, also known as “Mudda,” “Tootie Pie” and “Queen Esther,” of East Street, Christiansted, St. Croix, died on Tuesday, Feb. 5. She was 90 years old.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Belboda; father, Theophilus Solomon Sr.; siblings: Valeria Solomon, Ruth Solomon, Cordelia Jacobs, Kathleen Edlam, Iolene Solomon, Theophilus Solomon Jr. and Winifred Todman.
She is survived by her daughters: Yvonne Nisbett, Annette Hodge, Janice Rohlsen, Verna Harvey and Cynthia Connor (adopted); sons: Dr. Lloyd Coaker Sr. and Anselmo Codrington Sr.; son-in-law, Wayne Harvey; daughters-in-law: Rona Codrington and Rosie Coaker; grandchildren: Lester and Lloyd Coaker, Michele Nash, Rochelle Riviere, Rena Veal, Shamara Rohlsen, Shereen Newton, Andre Harvey, Shivaun Martin, Joshua Codrington, Aron and Herman Hendricks; adopted grandchildren: Rokeyah, Roy and Roderick Connor Jr.; and great-grandchildren: Jaime Williams, Alex, Maxwell and Quincy Nash, Deshaun, Jamal and Kimani Jett, Aesha, Isiah, Kalia, Caithlin and Malik Hendricks, Andre Harvey, Kenrick Duinkerk, Alric Davila, Tiara, Topaz and Tishaila Newton, Linton Shillingford, Geshanti Smith, Amaya and Yannick Martin, Royja Veal, Ava Codrington and Royce Connor.
She is also survived by eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Audrey Solomon and Olive Solomon Brooks; nieces and nephews: Celeste Swan, Esther Francis, Monica Martin, Norma Jacobs, Yvonne Freeman, Doreen Rogers, Lyro Rojas, Marlene Iveans, Denise Cherubin, Irene Sobratti, Mona Monell, Aquita Sarauw, Linda Todman, Lorraine James, Barbara and Virginia Solomon, Owen Phillips, Verne Jacobs, Orville Todman Sr., Henry and Kenneth Todman, Verne Lynch, Alva Swan, Kenneth and Alva Sobratti, Roan Miranda, Dwayne Harley and Elmo Mercer; and great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention; and cousins and other relatives: Robert Lee, Llewellyn, Kenneth, Samuel and James Solomon, Corliss John, Sandra Samuel, Rita John and Ravema Francois.

A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Peter’s Rest. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
