Helen Sterling Dies

Helen Sterling

Helen Sterling transitioned this life on Feb. 7 after a brief illness.

She was predeceased by mother, Ilma; husband, Joe; and brother, Stephen.

She is survived by her siblings: Olric, Claire, Hildred, Ira, Raymond and Ti.

Helen was born and spent her formative years on St. Croix. After relocating to the mainland, Helen had a long and rewarding career with the U.S. Department of Defense (Navy). Rising to the highest levels in her department, she traveled extensively and visited just about every continent. She thoroughly enjoyed working for the U.S. Government and often remembered the years with pride and joy.

The Biggs, Bostic, Canegata, Carrington, Gibbs, Jackson
James, King, Lenhardt, Marshall and Wallace families share this loss.

Also left to mourn are very special friends: Melba, Michael and Martha.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at St. John’s Episcopal Church located in Christiansted, St. Croix.
