Ione Idalia Casey-Milligan Dies at 98

Ione Idalia Casey-Milligan

Ione Idalia Casey-Milligan of Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged died away on Feb. 7. She was 98 years old.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Milligan; great nephew/ caretaker, Alvin M. A. Milligan; adopted son, Ronald “Shango” Allick; brothers: Charles E. Casey Jr., Joseph Casey and Leon Casey; sisters-in-law: Leona Garvey, Ethel-May Mulligan, Glenda Casey, Marguerite (Abigail) Casey and Hulia Martin; brother-in-law, Allen Mulligan; and nieces: Sandra Jackson-Carty, Brenda Y. Jackson, Nina Fabio, Magdalene Jackson-Cooper, Gloria Garvey, Marcia Milligan, Germaine Milligan, Marjorie Milligan, Florette Milligan, Claudia Urgent, Patricia Smith-Hicks, Deanna Mulligan, Theda Mulligan, Lynell Fergus-Amory, Rita Milligan and Monique Casey.

She is also survived by nephews: Vincent Urgent (Esther), Wayne Jackson Sr., Milton Fergus, Dwayne “Masik” Fergus, Dale Fergus, Henry Milligan Sr., Granville Milligan Jr., Aubrey Milligan, Rudy Milligan, Magella “Savida” Milligan, Ricardo Milligan, Kenneth Milligan, Raymond Milligan, Lloyd Garvey, Leon Casey Jr. and Le Roi Casey; and great nieces: Josephine Bruce-Wiltshire, Margaret Bruce, Magda Bruce, Dawn Bruce, Debra Bruce, Carolyn Urgent, Kirsten Fabio, Ashley Cooper, Tachonda Fergus, Tasharia Fergus, Ristan Trim, Sherika Ritter, Shakirah Ritter, Sheena Jackson, Joyce Smith-Stanford and Miriam Milligan.

More survivors include great-great nieces: Shania Milligan and Aleeyah Milligan; great nephews: Malcolm Carty, Brandon Carty, Joel Fabio, Dwayne Fabio, Wayne Jackson Jr., Michael Jackson and Che Lugo; great-great nephew, Amadeo Milligan; special cousins: Norman Carr and Deborah Reese; and other relatives and friends to include: Annie Martinez and the Herbert Grigg Staff, Blondell Baltimore, Julienne “Roaring Lioness” Hansen, Jennell Petersen, Curtis and Magnolia Williams, Mae-Louise Williams, Christina Herbert, Elaine Bicar, Daphney Davis, Albert and Maria Schuster, Josephine B. Hector, Gloria Joseph, Hortense Milligan-Rowe and St. Luke’s A.M.E. Church family.

Other survivors include more relatives and friends: Eleanor Acoy, Inez B. Williams, Ecilma Christian, Agneta Bailey, Florabel Miller, Delroy and Glenis Thomas, Bradley and Patricia Christian, Marlene Henderson, Emile A. Henderson Esq., Barbara Milligan, Catherine Milligan-Terrell, Mark L. Milligan Esq., Nolia Milligan, Rita Powell, Sherleen Illidge, Rev. Eulencine Christopher, Joyce Lenhardt, Eleanor Sealey, Elizabeth Lynch, Betty Wilson, Isabel Prince-Tuitt, Wisdom Yearwood, Loretta Belardo, Inez Hinds, Sarah Gordon, Gloria Joseph, Thelma Springer, Janet Harris, and Augustin and Dianne Henderson; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. to be followed by Holy Mass at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 22, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, St. Gerard Chapel. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
