Kaiamesha Lor’Tencia Deidra Thomas Dies at 27

Kaiamesha Lor’Tencia Deidra Thomas

Kaiamesha Lor’Tencia Deidra Thomas, also known as “Kai” or “Mesha,” of John F. Kennedy Terrace died on Nov. 25. She was 27 years old.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edna Prentice and grandfather, Reginald Martin.

She is survived by her mother, Valerie Martin; father, Franklyn Thomas; paternal grandmother, Evelyn Warde-Thomas; sisters: Atisha Thomas, Kenya Thames, Tasheika Thomas and Akeelah Thomas; brothers: Franklyn Thomas Jr., Jabari Thomas and Jelani Thomas; nieces: Kaliyah Telcy andTatyana Thomas; nephews: Jovanni Thomas, Korey Owens and Major Hanna; and aunts: Bernadine George, Hyacinth Prentice, Carmen Browne, Lilleth Prentice, Magarita Martin-Fawkes, Carol Napier, Ceires Walters, Myrtle Thomas, Joslyn Ward, Jalyn Ward- Edwards and Dana Thomas.

She is also survived by uncles: Cedric “Pat” Prentice, James “Sancha” Prentice, Reginald Martin Jr., Norris Archibald, Martin Thomas, Derick Thomas, Donald Thomas and Trevor “Haffa” Thomas; and cousins: Marlon, Anthony, Treavor, Brian, Kennly, Erma, Tessa and Samanta Prentice, Tanasha Prentice-Moxey, Karen and Dave Mills, Averil George, Deslyn George-Olunuga, Valencia Benn, Cathleen Browne, Neville “Junie” Harrison Jr., Shawn Rochester, Omari “Asim” Dasent, Sancha, Shareif “Yon,” Akeem, Nikia and Niyon Maynard, Korrie and Korrellia Foster, Korran Buckson, Reginald III, Crystal and Keion Martin, Jamal Walters, Earl IV, Malcolm, Emery and Malik Napier, Curtis, Daniel, Emica and Frankie Archibald, Shawn Williams and Maria Edward.

More survivors include special cousins: Jerrilyn Abraham, Amanda Prentice-Thompson, Whitney George, Khadijah Heyliger, Philip Nesbit, Brian “BJ,” Calonisa, Calvonis, Juwan, Chevron, Kimron and Shanique Prentice, Bernard Liburd, Charles “CJ” Gustave Jr., Jr. Calvin and Oneika Jenkins, Xavier and Ayden Moxey, and Semaj James; godmothers: Janet Liburd, Maurine Matthew and Patricia Boatswain; godfather: Rayford Heyliger; godsisters: Donna Browne, Nakeisha Prentice, Tekia Smith and Deja Ford; and godbrothers: David Browne Jr., Benson Ward an Reggie Ward.

Other survivors include godchildren: Shaykiah and Shayleah Roberts; special friends: Nakiyh Turner, Matisha, Lakima and Michael Ford, Aunty Matty, Jessica Perez, Paul “PJ” Roberts, Garry Brandy, Choco, Leangie Dunn, Dashawnna “Dashe” Graham, Wilfred Clarke, Angelica Smithen and the Seeley family; other family members to include: the Prentice, Rogers, Maynard, Claxton, Stapleton, Liburd, Miranda and Jenkins family of St. Kitts; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A viewing will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, at Ebenezer Methodist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
