National Park Service Announces Free Entrance Days in 2019

Christiansted National Historic Site

Christiansted National Historic Site has been educating the public about the history of slavery and the export industry for approximately 52 years. St. Croix was world renowned for exporting sugar, rum, molasses and cotton until the late 1800s.

Come experience Christiansted National Historic Site; learn about the historical building, such as For Christianvaern, the Steeple Building, the Danish West India and Guinea Company Warehouse, the Custom House and Scale House. There will be five specific days in 2019 when the historical site will have free admission for everyone. (www.nps.gov/CHRI )The dates are:

Jan. 21: Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr.
April 20: First Day of National Park Week
Aug. 25: National Park Service Birthday
Sept. 28: National Public Lands Day
Nov. 11: Veterans Day
