Governor Mapp Extends Thanksgiving Holiday for GVI Workers

Governor Kenneth E. Mapp has issued a proclamation heralding the upcoming Thanksgiving Day and providing administrative leave for all non-essential Government of the Virgin Islands (GVI) employees this Friday.

“The holiday season is upon our territory, and we all look forward to the gathering of family and friends on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018,” said the governor in his proclamation.

“I would like to extend that holiday and grant administrative leave on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018.”

Wishing all residents of the Virgin Islands a Happy Thanksgiving, Gov. Mapp encouraged families to reflect on their most cherished memories and, in the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, to spend quality time building strong bonds with friends and family.
