Vidalina Encarnacion Dies in Texas

Vidalina “Vida” Encarnacion died in the early morning of Oct. 27 in Arlington, Texas. A proud Virgin Islander, Vidalina was born March 28, 1937, on St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands, where she attended St. Mary’s School.

She is survived by her siblings: Milagros (Millie) Encarnacion, Juan “Johnnie” Encarnacion (residents of Texas), Calvin Lang (St. Croix) and her beloved primo Carmelo Rivera, who was raised in the same household; children: Lenora Perez, Felipe Perez Jr., Julio Perez and Osvaldo Perez; nieces: Justina, Vidalina and Fleurdeliz Encarnacion; grandchildren: Janelle Encarnacion, Marie Thomas, Ashley Perez, Kristina Perez and Sabrina Perez; and great-grandchildren: Aylena Casey, Malia Casey, Analiegh Perez, Alora Perez and Paxton Perez.

Vidalina was preceded in death by her parents: Vidal Encarnacion and Justina Parrilla, originally from Vieques, P.R. She was always proud of her huge family clan: the Encarnacions, Parrillas, Llanos, Felixes, Guadalupes and many others of the Viequense diaspora.

A cremation service will be held in Arlington, Texas.
