DeMaurice (De) Griffith Mann Dies in Georgia

DeMaurice Griffith Mann

DeMaurice (De) Griffith Mann, of the U.S. Virgin Islands, died suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Emory Hospital during her uterine cancer treatment. She was 75 residing in Lawrenceville, Ga.

De was born on May 7, 1943, in Christiansted, St. Croix. She gave birth to Reuben Molloy, Thomas Mann, Trevor Mann, Maurice Pinder and Carmaris Luis-Payne. With an abundance of love, De extended her passion for people beyond her children to a host of godchildren, friends and the community. Her legacy will live on through her five children, seven grandchildren, many family members and dear friends.

Ms. Mann worked as a manager at the VI Housing Finance Authority from where she retired in 1989. She dedicated her life to serving the community, as a member of the St. Croix Lions Club and St. Vincent De Paul Society. De was an active listener with a strong and fearless soul that embraced change as the world changed. Her unique talent of comforting and nurturing individuals through spiritual guidance was unmatched by their dilemmas. In her leisure, De enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, reading, fashion and the priceless joys the world offered.

She will be greatly missed. De will continue her work in Heaven from henceforth. Please join us to celebrate her life at any of these events:
