Dr. James Spain Dies at 84

Dr. James Spain

Dr. James Spain of Mary’s Fancy, St. Croix, died on Sept. 19 in Lakeland, Fla., at the age of 84.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Anduze McFarlane Spain; sisters: Schuyler Candace Gary and Rene Lee; cousins: Louis and Willie Hassell, Peggy, Gerotha and Tony Spain, Patricia Dicks Arnell, Yvonne Grant and Janis Livingston; special cousins: Elisabeth Brown, Donald, and Florence and Loretta Peterson; nephews: Joshua Gary, Kyle and Kyron Wicker; nieces: Crystal Lee and Latrice Wicker; stepsons: Alva, Reginald, Beverly and Ronald McFarlane; and godsons: Malcom Arnell and Reginald McFarlane Jr.

He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Norma Anduze Parson and Juanita Anduze Benitez; brothers-in-law: Roy Anduze, Ramon Benitez and Roberto Rivera; daughters-in-law: Sandra, Darlene, and Yvette and Jennifer McFarlane; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; special friends: Mrs. Maria Gregg, Pastor Thelma Youngblood, Judy Molloy, Eugene Mitchel, Dr. Marcel Galiber, Frank Brown and Mighty Galloway; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12, at the Lord of God Sabaoth Lutheran Church, King Street, Christiansted., St. Croix. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery–Veterans Section immediately following the service.
