An 85-year-old woman was killed Friday when she was struck by a vehicle on Veterans Drive in Charlotte Amalie.
The woman was identified by the V.I. Police Department as Sarah O. Brown.
According to the police report, at about 1:53 p.m. Friday, officers and emergency medical technicians responded to report of a pedestrian involved accident.
Brown was crossing from the apron to the northern side of Veterans Drive, adjacent to the the Holiday Inn formerly the Windward Passage Hotel. A red Ford F-150 Safari was traveling westward in the inner lane. The Ford struck the woman.
She was transported by ambulance to Schneider Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The police report did not list the name of the driver or provide any other details. The accident is still under investigation by the VIPD Traffic Division.
