Roy Rogers Dies

Roy Rogers

Roy Rogers died on Friday, March 20.   

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Rogers; and brother, Kenneth Bartley.

He is survived by his daughters: Eunetta Michelle Proctor, Carol Roger-Goodwin, Shenika Joseph-Reviere, Yolanda Rogers, Zelma Rogers and Toshika Rogers; sons: Roy A. Rogers Jr., Rasheed Rogers, Arthur Rogers and Akeel Rogers; adopted daughter, Nicole Williams; sisters: Maxine Bartley, Dawn G. Matthias and Janet Joseph; brothers: Darrel Bartley, Evertt Daley and Fitzroy Shaw; goddaughter, Pastor Alvera Thomas; and god-sister, Anna Johannes.

He is also survived by grandchildren: David, Alyssa, Isaiah, Jenee, Terry, Jaylen, Cheana, Keyana, Jabari, Jamari, Shane Seaquana, Sahniya, Roy III, Destini and Royalty; nieces and nephews: Chantel, Chris, Christie, Christine, Clarice, Dale, Dalia, Earl-deceased, Fritz, Jahmalie, Jason, Jillian, Kareema, Karis, Lesiann, Leslie, Lesville, Max, Sean and Sherice; 42 great nieces and great nephews; great-granddaughter, Leiah; and special cousins: Lerna, Loleen, Lorna, Leila, Les and Wayne Payne.

Other survivors include special family and friends: Allen Vanterpool, Eugene Genix Thomas Jr. Farrell, Mr, Evans, Ann Shaw, Winfred DeVane, Andre Wells, Ancelia Rogers, Eddene Matthias, Dale Matthas Sr., the Rogers family, the Pedro, Brandon-Folkes and Belle families, the Hatchette family, Althea Marshall, Lola Christian and family, the Milligan family, the Claudette Henry family, the Edneys, Johnson and Peterson families, the Imogene Yasper family, the Parris-Hall family, Etlyn Brown, Ronald “Saga” Sylveter “Syl” Gabriel, “Boiler”  Richard Elude, Mrs. Schuster and family, Dan Jarvis family, and Ms. Joseph and family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will take place at 10 a.m. and the funeral services at 11 a.m., Friday, April 13, at Kingshill Lutheran Church. Interment will immediately follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
