Sylvia Elena Dubois Parris Dies at 73

Sylvia Elena Dubois Parris

Sylvia Elena Dubois Parris of St. Croix died on Dec. 22, 2017. She was 73 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley A. Parris; sisters: Carmen Dubois and Mercedes Du-Bois; brother, Felix Dubois Jr.; sister-in-law, Miriam Parris; daughter, Yolanda Ojeda-Maldonado; daughters by heart: Diana Pena, Diana Simmonds and Natalie Frazer, sons: Julio C. Ojeda, Edgardo Luis Ojeda Sr. and Rafael Hiram Ojeda; stepdaughter, Yvette Parrisstepsons: Dwight Parris and Dale Parris; son by heart, Elsworth Taylor; son-in-law, Jose C. Maldonado; and daughters-in-law: Katherine M. Rojas-Ojeda and Tamara I. Navarro-Ojeda.

She is also survived by grandchildren: Jacqueline X. Nieves, Vanessa L. Maldonado, Joannalee L. Maldonado, Jose L. Maldonado, Jessica E. Saldana, Jasmine M. Morales, Edgardo L. Ojeda Jr., Rafael J. Ojeda, Rasheed M. Ojeda, Luis A. Ojeda, Rihanna E. Ojeda, Cesar A. Ojeda, Edriana M. Ojeda and Elijah H. Ojeda; grandchildren by heart: Hector Soto and Pedro Reyes; and grandsons-in- law: Luis R Saldana Sr. and Edgard J. Morales Valentin.

Other survivors include great-grandchildren: Dayalee, Sammuel, Javier, Isaiah, Nelanie, Jennalis, Jayden, Sophia, Justin, Ivelisse, Savanna, Izabella, Nathalia, Kyori, Jaydalis, Kyani, Marianny and Michelle; nieces and nephews: Amarylis E. Camacho, Santiago Camcho Jr., Aimee Ramvad, Aixa L. Ramvad, Saul Ramvad, Kheyyam Obel and Kevin Obel; as well as other family and friends too numerous to mention. 

The family requests that those in attendance wear festive colors.

Tributes will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery Veterans Section.
