Vincent Leroy Griffin Dies at 78

Vincent Leroy Griffin

Vincent Leroy Griffin, also known as “John,” of Estate Whim died on Oct. 31. He was 78 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Dorcas Griffin; daughters: Bridget Griffin, Hesbon Collins, Karen Matthew, Andrita Griffin, Alisha Griffin and Laurie Griffin; sons: Reuel Griffin, Vincent Griffin Jr., Samuel Griffin and John Burgeon; grandchildren: Te’Ron Lindsey, Geeci Collins, Marc Collins, Kenneth Collins, Meshach Pryce Jr., Samuel Griffin Jr., Vincent Griffin III, Bianca Matthew, Raven Clark, Brianna Matthew, Tenae’ Lindsey, Natalie Griffin, T’Nyah Isaac and Isabella Griffin; and sisters: Evelyn Griffin and Barbara Griffin.

He is also survived by a nephew, Arpha; daughters-in-law: Cheryl Griffin, Quinette Smiley and Stacey Seeley; sons-in-law: Gaston Collins and Thomas Matthew; brothers-in-law: Fred Scott, Alfred Matthews, Sonny Matthews, Sydiney Scott and Eli Francis; sisters-in-law: Presta Matthew and Vianna Francis; special friends: the Walwyn family on St. Croix, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Frederiksted Wesleyan Holiness Church; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

There will be a viewing at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, at Beeston Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
