2017 Veterans Day Parades to Honor V.I. Female Veterans

As a part of Annual Veterans Day activities throughout the Virgin Islands this year, the V.I. Office of Veterans Affairs and American Legion District 10 will honor female veterans in the territory. Major Kathleen A. Parris of the Virgin Islands National Guard will be the parade marshal and guest speaker on St. Croix., Sergeant First Class Laurel Maloon-Francis will be the parade marshal on St. Thomas. Monique Y. Ferrell, former military spouse and director of the Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program, will be the guest speaker on St. Thomas.

Veterans Day parades in the territory are scheduled as follows:

– Veterans Day Parade – 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, in Frederiksted, St. Croix

– Veterans Day Parade – 3 p.m., Saturday, No. 11, on St. Thomas

Any visiting military or para-military organizations wishing to be a part of the parade in either district may do so by first contacting the V.I. Office of Veterans Affairs at 774-8387.
