Department of Labor Waives Penalties, Interest for VIESA Reports

U.S. Department of Labor

The Virgin Islands Department of Labor has announced the waiver of penalties and interest for Employment Security Agency (VIESA) reports for the third quarter that were due Oct. 31.

Commissioner Catherine A. Hendry Esquire has the authority to require reports and to prescribe the manner in which reports are filed.

  • Under Virgin Islands law, employers are required to file VIESA reports for the third quarter ending Sept. 30, 2017 on Oct. 31, 2017.
  • Commissioner Hendry, cognizant of the hardship caused by both hurricanes Irma and Maria, has announced the waiver of penalties and interest for employers until Nov. 30, 2017.

Additional press releases on VIDOL resource initiatives for the territory due to Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria will be forthcoming.
