A man was found dead Saturday at the Golden Grove Correctional Facility, the V.I. Police Department reported. Cause of death is still to be determined.
At 9:24 a.m. Saturday the 911 emergency call center received a request for assistance from the Golden Grove Correctional Facility reporting that a man was down.
At the scene, officers found 25-year-old Samory O’Bryan. Cause of death was unknown pending the medical examiner’s autopsy.
“As we continue to rebuild and recover, this is not the type of news that I want to deliver,” said Bureau of Corrections Director Rick Mullgrav. “On behalf of the Bureau of Corrections, I extend my condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Samory O’Bryan,” Mullgrav said.
