Violet V. Knight died on July 1.
She was preceded in death by her son, Harold Fleming; daughter, Eva Hodge; and grandsons: Harold Hodge Jr., Charles Knight and LeoCardie Lake.
She is survived by her sons: Daniel A. Gumbs and Charles Knight; daughter, Teresita A. Fleming; step-daughter, Alma Arrendell; son-in-law, Harold N. Hodge Sr.; daughters-in-law: Virginia Knight and Wendy Fleming; grandchildren: Troy L. McFarlane, H. Nathalie Hodge, Stacy Hodge, Tamara Rayner-Knight (Leslie King), Melvin Hodge (Chyrise Hodge), Tamera Stegall and Carlos Knight; great- grandchildren: Kadeem, Jahmarley, Toure and Talani McFarlane, Jaden N. Smith, Venetia and Nkosi Hendrickson, Nmani Cherubin, By’iana Jones, Quincy and Mia King, Marquise, Layla and Nicholas Hodge, Madison and Kennedy Hatchett, and Reagan Josey.
She is also survived by great-great-grandchild, Ava Rivera; sister, Ruth Tull; nieces: Karen Stolling, Rhonda Williams-Henry, LaVerne Mills-Willaims, Paulette Fleming, Leah Hornkohl, Joyce Arrendell and Yvonne Lang; nephews: Clifford Boynes (Rona Boynes), Vincent Arrendell (Arelis), Earl Mills and Laren Williams Jr.; and cousins: Nehemiah Fleming and family, Jeff Fleming and family, Sinclaire Matthews, VanGurp family (St. Croix), Hodge family (Anguilla, Antigua, St. Croix), Patrick Lake, Lake family, Vedah Rey, Cyntia and Atwell Rey, Sybel and David VanGurp, Adams family (St. Croix), Fleming family (St. Croix, Anguilla), Solomon family (St. Croix), and Webster family (St. Croix).

A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, July 13, at Divine Funeral Services Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 14, at Community Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
