Idona A. Byron Dies at 72

Idona A. Byron

Idona A. Byron, also known as “Pinky,” “Pinks,” “I.D.” or “Ms. B,” of Estate Grove Place died on Thursday, June 1. She was 72 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Glenworth A. Byron; daughters: Thrisha M. Byron and Daria D. Byron; sons: Glen Maurice Byron and Terence L. Byron; grandchildren: Nadira A. Muller, Sedale A. Rissing, Inari G. J. Wilkinson, Aamira K. Wilkinson, Lloyd T. Bough III,  Leiani I. Byron and Nia K. Byron; sister, Lorma Molloy; brothers: Wilfred Allick Jr. “Junie Bomba,” Melvin Allick and Myron Allick; and nieces: Haley Allick, Aliyah Allick, Malikah Allick, Christina Allick-Hopper and Indira Allick-Murr.

She is also survived by nephews: Claude Molloy Jr., Dean Molloy, Leo L. Gardener III, Elijah Allick, Melvin Allick Jr., David Allick and Myron A. Allick; 10 great nieces; 10 great nephews; aunt, Ina S. Williams; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Hazelwood-Byron; brother-in-law, Christel Byron; and sisters-in-law: Inez Williams, Ecilma Christian, Florabel Miller, Zula Byron, Agneta Bailey, Arlene Hopkins, Susan Allick and Luz Allick.

Other survivors include godchildren too numerous to mention; special friends to include: Beatrice Tyler, Raphaela Albany, Maxine Moorhead, Rayelle Tutein, Gloria Joseph, Janest Schrader, Allan Vanterpool and Paul Arnold; cousins and other relatives: the Sackey, Allick, William, Milligan, McIntosh, Schrader, Pemberton, Henneman, Byron, Bailey, Miller, Christian, Williams, Briscoes, Watlington and many other families too numerous to mention.

There will be a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
