Beatrice Moorehead Dies

Beatrice Moorehead died on May 20.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Juna Smith.

She is survived by her father, Elroy Moorehead; daughter, Malika Bascombe; son, Momar Bascombe; grandchild, Nazir Hercules; brothers: Earnest Smith, Kenneth Smith and Levi Levine; sisters: Malaika Smith, Ja Nel Harrigan, Jennifer Moorehead, Dureama Moorehead and Natalie Moorehead; aunts: Rhea Hodge, Vivianne Furet, Dorothy Horsford, Shirley O’Rielly, Iris Saruw, Delita Civil, Eileen Crudup and Bernice Richards; and uncles: Austin, Winston, Norris, Morris, Darryl, Mario Moorehead, Tubal Harley, Joseph Harley and Warren Harley.

She is also survived by nieces: Javasha Boone, Marabia Smith, Zya’Nel McKie, Jasmin Smith, Shakira McGregor, Dominique Smith, Cherish Smith, Crystal Smith, Tashyana and De’Jahi Smith; nephews: Ernest McGregor, Anthony Martinez, Kenneth Smith Jr., Christopher Smith and Royce Harrigan; special friends: Diana Owens, Maria Gomez, Juliene Hansen, Sandra James Petersen, Andre Laudat, Veneta Walcott, Naomi Thomas, Lisa Quinones, Yolanda Audifre, Ada Velazquez and Zachairah (Chayaaka) Roberts; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 3, at Divine Funeral Services Chapel, 129 Peter’s Rest. No internment will be held.
