Mario O. Canton Sr., also known as “Tom,” of Mario’s Water Services Inc. transitioned into eternal peace on Thursday, May 18. He was 77 years old.
He is survived by his daughters: Renee and Chandell Canton; sons: Mario Jr., Raymond, O’Neil, Reuben and Jimmy Canton; grandchildren: Sherell, Benedicta and Raynaldo Canton, Nyla Brown, O’Neil II and Lailoni Canton, Rasheem and Malik Samuel, Touré McFarlane, Re-Nyah Baker, Shante Canton, Chawnique Schjang, Kyani, Julian and Lorenzo Canton; great-grandchildren: Terell and Allina Canton; sisters: Inez Sewer and Roslyn Lang; brothers: Elwood Canton and Eric Canton; and daughters-in-law: Juanita Canton and Danielle Aris.
He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Ray Sewer and Clinton Lang; sisters-in-law: Pauline Canton, Ruth Canton, Jean Canton, Iris Canton and Elaine Canton; special friends and relatives: Jason Bell, Agatha Canton, Irmalee Petersen, Raymond (Bobby) James, Hermon Marcus, Valentino Hendricks, Winifred Canton, Luis Cintron, and the Roebuck, Petersen, Schuster and Lezama families; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, June 2, at South Gate Baptist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery Veterans Section.
