Sewage Leak in Frederiksted

There has been break in Frederiksted’s Lagoon Street Pump Station’s force main near the St. Patrick School and residents are urged to avoid the area if they can while repairs take place. Waste Management Authority officials say repairs to the force main will begin Tuesday, May 9, at 9 a.m. and should be complete by Friday. According to WMA, traffic will not be impacted and berms have been placed to contain the spilling sewage.

Residents and businesses are also asked to refrain from pouring liquid grease and various personal products down the drain. These items cause problems at WMA’s pump stations and wastewater treatment facilities. Residents may contact the Wastewater Division at 712-4962 or 715-9100 to report any problems.
