Toddler Dies in Single-Car Crash

A two-year-old died late Thursday morning when the car the child was riding in was involved in a single-vehicle accident, the V.I. Police reported.

According to police at 11:29 a.m. the 911 emergency call center received a report of a car accident on the Queen Mary Highway, in the vicinity of the Whim Shanty in Frederiksted.

Responding officers found a vehicle that had struck a tree and flipped over.

There were two adults and two minors in the vehicle. Police said a two-year-old in the vehicle died from injuries sustained in the accident. No names were released by police.

The incident is under investigation.
