Second Victim Pronounced Dead in Estate Glynn Shooting

Lawrence Greenidge, one of four people injured in a shooting Saturday at the Cockpit in Estate Glynn, died of his injury early Thursday morning, making him the second fatality from that incident.

The 28-year-old Greenidge is the 11th homicide victim in the territory this year, the fourth on St. Croix.

Greenidge was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m. Thursday by the attending doctor at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

At approximately 8:23 p.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to a report of a shooting at the Cockpit in Estate Glynn. At the scene, officers discovered four victims having sustained gunshot wounds. The other three were 16-year-old minor, Juan Aponte, who died on the scene; an adult male who had been grazed in the face by a bullet; and a woman with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is continuing to work the case, according to the VIPD.
