The Education Department is holding an emergency meeting with parents of students at Alfredo Andrews Elementary School at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the school to talk about the status of conditions in the wake of an early dismissal of classes Wednesday.
A vent at the school was damaged by winds Tuesday night and classes were dismissed Wednesday as a result. Then on Thursday, parents took some students home who complained of itching eyes, skin and throats.
The teachers union and some others are concerned about fiberglass insulation from the vent.
Classes were scheduled as usual Thursday and Friday.
