Alton was preceded in death by his father, Albert Krigger, and his brothers: Ulric and Ray Acoy.
He is survived by his wife, Melania; sons: Alton Jr. and Yemar; mother, Ada Powell-Acoy; step-father, Lauritz Acoy; brothers: Albert Krigger, Alvaris and Lauritz Acoy Jr.; sisters: Annette Krigger and Terri Acoy; grandchildren: Jemarise, Jaliesha, Qnika, Yemar Jr., Jamil, Amali, Amari, Asari and Arron; great-grandchild, Jahliya Rock; aunts: Sarah Powell-James, Delita Walcott-Johnson, Phyliss Walcott and Williemae Edwards; uncles: Arthur Powell, Henrique Walcott and Anselmo Gerard; and mother-in-law, Provedencia Ortiz.
He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Maria, Lourdes and Leisda Diaz; brother-in-law, Lucien Spencer; special friends and families: former senator and commissioner St. Claire Williams, Ronald Hoyer Sr., Eloise Krigger, Michelle Weekes, U. S. Postal Service workers, V1TRAN workers, staff of Caribbean Kidney Center, Acoy family, Powell family, Johannes family, Barnes family and members of the Christiansted High School Class of 1967; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Divine Funeral Services and Crematory. There will be a second viewing held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church in Christiansted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
