Martina Fernie Phills Dies

Martina Fernie Phills Martina Fernie Phills has died.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Iris Avril and stepfather, St. George Avril; sister, Lauren Phills; brother, Barthelmy, also known as Adda Fields.

She is survived by her son, Fabian Chris Tobierre; father, Louis D. Leon; sisters: Christina Gaskin, Iona JnBaptist, Antonia Leon Hypolyte; brothers: Matthew Fields, Clinton Fields, Anthony Leon and Aubrey Leon; brother-in-law, Elston Gaskin Sr.; and sisters-in-law: Mickee Leon and Alicia Leon.

She is also survived by cousins: Steven Edwin, Yolanda Edwin-Duparl, Mark, Trevor, Larry Edwin, Tricia Tanisha, Gilroy, Greg Seville Beatrice Seville, Lisa, Margaret, Laura Lorna Gordon, Irma, Regina, Merlyn, Laurencia, Julia, Crecenatia, Michelline, Jamal, Batson, Mickey, Simon, Venus, Ivory, Cuthbert, Hilary, Matthew, Michael Martin, Evans Kerr, Shelia and Rumina; and aunts: Thecla Bailey, Marina Henry, Dahlia Edwin, Shelia John, Rose Jn Charles and Norma Sheikh.

Other survivors include uncles: Phillip Fields, McDonald, Nicholas, Peter and Benedict Edwin; nephews: Webster, Travis, Kimoi and Danny Fields, Elston Gaskin Jr., Asanni Gaskin, Chad Fields, Alvin, Mervin (Jn Baptist), Audrey Leon Jr, Duval Briscoe Jr. and Kadeem Leon; nieces: Trisha Fields, Merlin, Arlene (JnBaptist), Khiana Leon and Kamica Leon; aunts: Techla Bailey, Mariana, Ms. Daliah Edwin and Norma Shiekh; friends: Nelly Cuffy-Auguste, Denise Barnes Dorville, Vistula, Ms. Galaxia, Nancy, Dr. Gorrebeck and Lisa Painter; brother-in-law, Elston Gaskin Sr.; as well as many more friends and family too numerous to mention.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19, at Church of God Holiness, Estate Peter’s Rest, Christiansted (next to Public Works).
