Andrews School Transforms Auditorium into ‘Christmaslandia’

Alpha Soldiers perform at Christmaslandia event.The Alfredo Andrews Elementary School auditorium was adorned with holiday decorations that were complemented by the bright colors worn by students, transforming the space into “Christmaslandia” on Friday, Dec. 16.

Alfredo Andrews School first grade students play and sing Jingle Bells at Christmaslandia High-spirited students filled with the joy of the season took to the stage by grade level to entertain faculty and staff, parents, family and friends. Students from kindergarten to the sixth grade sang Christmas carols, danced and recited poems to help bring in the season early during the school’s holiday program. Faculty, staff members and parents also got actively involved in the holiday spirit by filling in with the Cha Cha Slide.Faculty, staff and parents get down with the Cha Cha Slide at Christmaslandia program.

The Alfredo Andrews Elementary School Steel Orchestra closed out the entertainment with a popular Christmas carol. 

Principal Joan Claxton expressed special thanks to Vicky-Lyn Ashby for decorating the auditorium and to Jessy Joseph, the school’s steel orchestra instructor. Yves Abraham and Gwenhilda Phillips, assistant principals, provided inspirational and closing remarks. Sharon C. Dollete directed most of the school’s musical groups, and Thamrah Gomes and Qurell Allen served as mistresses of ceremonies.
