Eleuteria “Terry” Emanuel Roberts died on Dec. 11.
Terry is preceded in death by her husband, Altyman “Kwame” Roberts; parents: Lionel H. and Beatrice A. Emanuel; brothers: Lester D. Sr. and Gene K. Emanuel; uncles: Hugo and Alvin “Tony” Emanuel; and aunt-in-law, Glenna Emanuel.
She is survived by her brother, Percival Sewer; sister: Lynelle Emanuel Christian; sisters-in-law: Mary Emanuel, Isabel Sampson Mapp and Diana Aird; brother-in-law, Carlos F Christian Sr.; nephews: Lester Emanuel Jr., Antony, Enrique and R. Kumalo Sewer, Khenna and Khari Emanuel, and Senghor L. Morgan; nieces: Janice Westbrooks, Denise Ferguson, Yvette Gaynor, Kebra Emanuel, Ama and Kami Emanuel. Nieces-in-law: Kareen Campbell, Erin Cooper, Leah Aird and Alana Campbell; stepchildren: Malik and Daud Roberts; and adopted nieces: Elizabeth Morales, Alea Mitchell, Sade Southwell and Shaunte Dennis.
She is also survived by adopted children: Rodney Lynch, David DeJesus, Ricardo Christopher and Julian O’Laughlin, to name a few; sister friends (very special): Janet Sargent, Ursula Blake, Donna “Ife” Sargent, Rhonda Vanterpool, Christine Greenidge, Arah Lockhart, Brenda Jennings, Merle Kiture Morgan and Denise; brother friends (very special): Vargrave Richards, Glen Danielson, Roy Pemberton, Sele Adeyeme, Dr. Gilbert Sprauve, Roy Rogers and Austin Andrews; and godchildren: Akintunde Henley, Rolando Watley, Vivique Pemberton, Marvin James, Cherise Richards, Delacy Sexius and Renan O. Steele, to name a few.
Other survivors include cousins and other family: Eileen Young, Stanley and Lawrence Perry, Elisha McKay, Antonio Emanuel, Paula Marshall, Beverly and Ethlyn James, Josephine Hector, June Vanterpool, Elroy Gerard, Gerard, Monica and Desmond (Imani) Emanuel, the Adams, Thompson, Francis, Walcott, Rivera, Romney, Clark/Ferdinand and Martinez/Johnson families, Miriam Griffith, Victor and Joyce Whiskey, Sandra Nicholas, Mrs. James, Rosemarie Joseph, Dona Rosa and Alberta Leon.
There will be a viewing held at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22, at Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
