Ada M. Durant Anderson, also known as “Ms. Andie,” “Auntie Ada,” “Mother,” “Mom” and “Grandma,” died on Nov. 23 at her home. She was 78 years old.
She is survived by her daughters: Diane D. Andrews and Jaimie M. Krieger; grandchildren: Rasheem E., Shereka R. and Shaleeka Cornelius, Kimiko L. and Keeno L. Krieger; brothers: Vernon and Valls Hurley; nieces: Laurel Hurley-Petersen, Judith and Corene Hurley, Beverly Hurley-Richards, Jacqueline “Jackie” Hurley, LaVerne Hurley-Allen, Michelle Hurley and Dawn Hurley; nephew, Wayne Hurley; and great nephew, Richard Samuel III.
She is also survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Hurley; godchildren: Malvina Jackson, LaVaenr Hodge, Sharon Canton, Alecia Nanton, Christal Belgrave and Hector C. Torres Jr.; special friends: Beatrice Coggins, Angela Burt, Jenny Thomas, Janis Browne, Sheila Marshall, Janice Jones, Reuben Lindsey and Elveme Trevor Lampkin; cousins and other relatives: Teddy Brow and family, the Durant family and the Hurley family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and the funeral services will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, at Friedendsfeld (Midland) Moravian Church. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.
