CFVI Invites Public to KIDS COUNT Community Forums

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) invites individuals and groups from all sectors to join a collaborative community program to be held Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 on St. Thomas and St. Croix, respectively. The KIDS COUNT Community Forums will release and highlight data collected for the 2015 KIDS COUNT Data Book, “By the Numbers: Where Do We Stand?” The interactive format will engage participants in discussing the findings and some ways to address the challenges and opportunities facing the territory’s children and families.
Each year, CFVI produces the KIDS COUNT Data Book documenting available statistics reflecting child well-being in the Virgin Islands. Its purpose is to promote dialogue on children’s issues and to stimulate community response to improve the health, safety and economic status of V.I. children from birth to age 18. The Data Book is a valuable tool to help prompt responses to the challenges facing the community – through awareness and public policy.
The first forum will be held Monday, Dec. 5, on St. Thomas at the University of the Virgin Islands Administration and Conference Center, first floor Conference Room. Registration and lunch will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The second forum will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, on St. Croix at the Cardiac Center of the Juan F. Luis Medical Center. Registration and breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. Pre-registration or an RSVP is encouraged; visit https://t.co/l42AWWkDPt or e-mail ascarbriel@cfvi.net.
Data from the 2015 Report as well as years prior are also available online at www.cfvi.net.
