Board of Elections to Conduct Audit of Three Polling Precincts; Date Changed to Dec. 21

The St. Croix District Board of Elections will be conducting an audit of three polling precincts of the 2016 General Election. The polling precincts selected are Claude O. Markoe, Eulalie Rivera and Florence Williams schools. The 2016 General Elections audit will be conducted at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the St. Croix Elections Office. Date has been changed to Thursday, Dec. 1.

The purpose of the audit is to ensure the accuracy of the DS200 machines (tabulators). Board members will verify the number of ballots cast to the number of ballots recorded on machine tapes from the end of the night on Election Day.

Vice-Chairwoman Barbara Jackson-McIntosh invites the media, candidates and public to view the process. She reminds the media and candidates that space is limited in the St. Croix conference room and ask that they limit individuals to one person at a time to view on the behalf of the candidate or media outlet.
