Work on replacing sewer lines and manholes in Christiansted began Nov. 7, according to the Waste Management Authority.
The project runs from the intersection of Church Street, by the Steeple Building, and Company Street to the entrance of the Christiansted Cemetery. WMA awarded Marco St. Croix, Inc. the contract.
The project’s scope of work includes:
– Replacing 1,573 linear feet of six-inch clay and concrete sewer pipes,
– Replacing 810 linear feet of four-inch ductile sewer laterals,
– Rehabilitating 15 manholes, and
– Building one manhole.
The project is funded through bonds through the V.I. Public Finance Authority. According to WMA, work will not impact daytime activities in Christiansted. Work on the project will take place overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and should be complete by Jan. 13.
