Homeless Man Found Dead in Peters Rest

A V.I. Police Department officer on routine patrol found a 35-year-old homeless man dead Sunday evening under a tree by the Peters Rest Dump Site in Christiansted.

Juanito Rosario of Vieques, Puerto Rico, was pronounced dead at 6:31 p.m. Sunday by the doctor on duty at the Juan F. Luis Hospital.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 5:02 p.m. a patrol officer reported to the 911 emergency call center spotting a possible Dead on Arrival. Citizens in the area said the individual had been lying on a flat lounging chair for some time. A family member on the scene told police Rosario suffered from seizures.

Responding to the scene, emergency medical technicians found no vital signs.

Rosario was transported by the morgue attendants and was pronounced dead at 6:31 p.m.
