A man walking on the sidewalk in the Mount Pleasant area near Plaza Extra West Saturday was stabbed and left lying on the sidewalk by an unknown male individual, the V.I. Police Department reported Monday.

Officers dispatched to the area Saturday found the victim, whose name was not released by police, on the sidewalk.

The victim told the officers he had been walking traveling north on the sidewalk, heading into Grove Place, when he saw a vehicle stopped in the roadway. A man he said he did not know got out of the vehicle and stabbed him with an unknown object. He was transported to the Juan F.
