Delivery Vehicle Fee to Be Collected at All VIPA Seaports Starting Nov. 1

Executive Director Carlton Dowe informs the public that delivery service vehicle fees will be charged at all Port Authority seaports throughout the territory effective Tuesday, Nov. 1, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA).
Dowe said that the fee will be included in VIPA’s marine rates and charges schedule. According to the tariff, delivery service pick-up trucks, vans, SUVs or similar size vehicles will be charged $100 annually or $5 per day; large trucks or similar size vehicles excluding cargo containers will be charged $200 annually or $15 per day.
VIPA’s board has directed that the fee be collected at all of its marine ports. Regular users of VIPA’s marine facilities throughout the territory have been notified of the implementation of the fee, said Dowe.
For more information, contact VIPA’s marine offices at 774-2250 on St. Thomas-St. John or 778-3131 on St. Croix.
