Vida Viola Chinnery Dies at 91

Vida Viola Chinnery Vida Viola Chinnery, also known as "Vida Viola Andersen Trotman Chinnery" of Sunny Isles Housing died at the age of 91.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosalita Trotman; son, Monroe Trotman Jr.; daughter-in-law, Patricia Trotman; adopted daughter, Helen Rogiers; adopted son, Elroy Edwards; grandchildren: Monroe Trotman III, Thomas Trotman Sr., Antoinette Moses, Robert Moses, Anthony Moses, Robin Ailers, Joseph Wallace, Estelle Hampton, Sharonda Trotman, Shanna Knotts, Edwin Trotman and Tyiasha Trotman; and sisters: Emily Westby, Adella Jacobs, Evangeline Best, Magdalene Plaskett and Eleanor Nicco.
She is also survived by brother-in-law, Leroy Plaskett; nieces: Althea Jacobs, Juliette Westby, Lyra Green, Stacey Plaskett and Lesley Plaskett; nephews: Edwin Westby, Jeffery Westby, Lauro Garner, Jethro Jacobs, Kevin Garner, George Jacobs and Ernest Woods; special friends, Ms. Bernadette Fenton; Mrs. Donna Pierre, Ms. Thelma Lang, Mr. Milton Henry, Mr. Robert Johnson, Ms. Joafuino Deleon, Ms. Pamela Muhammad, Ms. Helen Jenkins, Mr. Yves Charlec, Mr. Bruce Greyham, the Christiansted SDA Temple, and the staff and residents at Sunny Isles Housing.
Other survivors include cousins: Calvin Burke, Maureen Burke-Ventura, Robert Burke, Carol Burke, Carolyn Burke, Alvin Burke, Denise Jackson, Criminatus (Carmen) Andersen, Marcus (Jeanette) Andersen, Jens Andersen, Jamie (Nicole) Andersen, Christine(Jewett) Raines, Celia (Johnny) Caesar, Marion Reilova, Evelyn Fredericks, Luren Messer, Lyra Messer, Corene Messer, Christian Messer and Almeric Messer; great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Christiansted Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at Christiansted Cemetery.
