Casting of Lots by General Election Candidates Set for August 25

The Casting of Lots will take place on Thursday, Aug. 25, for the positioning of names on the ballots for the St. Croix District and the St. Thomas-St. John District candidates who are certified to be on the 2016 General Election ballot.
These candidates are running for Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives, At-Large Legislature, Legislature Board of Elections and Board of Education candidates. The Casting of Lots will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 25 at the respective district offices.
St. Croix District Offices: Sunny Isle Annex, Unit 4 (adjacent to the Social Security Office)
St Thomas-St. John District Offices: 9200 Lockhart Gardens (above Banco Popular)
Supervisor of Elections Caroline F. Fawkes advises that “candidates should be present to pick their lot. If the candidate cannot appear to pick the lot, they can send a representative with a notarized letter as per [Title] 18 V.I.C. * 419 attesting that they can pick the candidate’s lot. If that fails, an authorized Elections official will pick the lot for the candidate.”
For more information, call St. Croix office: 773-1021 or St. Thomas-St John office: 776-2391.
