VING Unit Is Conducting Annual Training at Various Sites

p>Virgin Islands National Guard (VING) units are conducting annual training at various sites across the territory from July through September.
VING is positioned in communities to provide response and support to local, state and national emergencies as a domestic mission. For this reason, it is important for Guardsmen to train and become familiar with the local environment. VING’s ability to meet all contingencies at home and abroad requires it to maintain capabilities and practice essential skills. This is achieved through monthly training assemblies (drills), annual training, planned exercises and community projects.
The Virgin Islands community should not be alarmed. During training, noise considerations are executed as VING is aware residents may be in the vicinity of on-base and off-base locations. In addition, motorists are asked to observe safety and road rules when they encounter a grouping of military vehicles on roadways. The convoy of large or wide vehicles may obstruct visibility if drivers attempt to pass.
VING apologizes in advance for any inconvenience their training events or activities may cause residents. Training is required to maintain and improve proficiency as the National Guard aims to serve and protect the community.
