Shots Fired in Lorraine Village

Apartments were damaged by gunfire but no people were injured Thursday night when shots were fired at the Lorraine Village Housing Community in Estate Grove Place, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police, officers were dispatched at 10:36 p.m. to investigate a report of a shots fired.

One resident told police she was in her apartment when she heard gunfire and dropped to the floor until the shooting stopped. She said afterwards she found bullet holes throughout her apartment.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau processed the scene and gathered information.

The VIPD urged anyone with information about this incident or other criminal activities to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crimes Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-8477.
