Wednesday Night Shooting in Estate Glynn

A man was injured Wednesday evening when he was shot by a stranger in Estate Glynn, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the police, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim. They spoke to a 44-year-old black man, whose name was not released by police. The victim had sustained an injury to the upper body.

The man told officers he was "hanging out" with some friends when an unknown male approached him and started discharging shots. The victim was transported by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Hospital; he remains in serious but stable condition.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is looking into the case and urged anyone with information to call the bureau at 340 712-6024, the 911 call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI at 1-800-222-8477.
