Bernard E Roebuck died June 24 at his home in Quakertown, Penn. He was the son of the late Ector C. and Nathalia Roebuck, and was born on St. Thomas on March 19, 1938.
After graduating from Charlotte Amalie High School as valedictorian, Class of 1956, he attended Lincoln University in Oxford, Penn. where he graduated in 1960. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and after an honorable discharge in 1966, he returned to St. Thomas, where he worked at the Department of Finance until his retirement as assistant commissioner of finance in 1991.He relocated to Pennsylvania in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette; children: Derek (Regina), Tonya (Lonnie), McMillan, and Lyle (Katrina); grandchildren: Kadin, Jairus and Nathalia McMillan, and Gabriel Roebuck; brother, Ector C. Roebuck Jr. (Kayo) of Sacramento, Calif.; sister, Bernice Rhymer (James) of St. Thomas; sisters-in-law: Cora Sue Boggs of Delaware, Crystal Hanna of Pennsylvania, Edna Rose Roebuck and Pierina Roebuck; brother-in-law, Bernard Francis of St. Thomas; and many other family members including nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 1, in Quakertown, Penn. Burial will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Penn., on July 7.
