CCTA Gives Grants to Queen Louise Home, Nana Baby Children’s Home

Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association (CCTA) gave grants to two charitable agencies in the territory that had been recommended by Innovative Companies in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Queen Louise Home for Children on St. Croix and the Nana-Baby Children’s Home on St. Thomas have received $1,400 each. These organizations were chosen as grant recipients because of the outstanding service and assistance they provide to children in the territory.
Graciela Rivera, vice President of Cable TV Services, said, “While the Innovative Companies continue to give generously to our community, we continue to remain focused on educational development and the well-being of our youth. We are proud to be able to support these two very worthy organizations on an annual basis.”
The CCTA’s Community Charities Program, established in 1993, has awarded over $281,000 to Caribbean charities during its existence. The program was set up with the intention of distributing approximately $10,000 per year to deserving non-profit organizations in the region. Seven charities were selected for 2016 grants.
The worthy recipients were nominated by the following cable and telecommunications operators: Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation of Barbados; Innovative Cable TV of St. Croix; Innovative Cable TV of St. Thomas-St. John; Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico; St. Maarten Cable TV; The Cable of St. Kitts; and TV Distribution Systems N.V. of Curacao. Formed in 1983, the Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association represents cable and telecommunications providers throughout the Caribbean, and the programmers, software and hardware suppliers that support their operations.
