Flooding on St. Croix; Motorists Urged to Proceed with Caution

The following areas have been reported as flooded, according to the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency.

– Sunny Isles intersection on Melvin Evans Highway,

– Vicinity of Ricardo Richards Elementary School on Melvin Evans Highway,

– Vicinity of Hovensa/Home Depot on Melvin Evans Highway.

VITEMA also reported: A downed tree on Queen Mary Highway in the westbound of the Lorraine Hill area. The Department of Public Works has been notified.

The US Virgin Islands remains under a flash flood watch through 8 p.m. Saturday due to strong thunderstorms in the region.

A flood advisory has also been issued for the island of St. Croix until 4 p.m. today.
