A mother too many, Leoneal E Gordon succumbed to her illness on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cletus Alexander Gordon; sisters: Clacia Hendrickson and Belinda Elcock; brothers: James Richards and Alselmo Elcock; children: Clayton Gordon, Claudia Durant and Raphael Greenidge; and grandson, Alexander Gordon.
She leaves to mourn her daughters: Marilyn Elcock and Helen Simmons of N.Y., Verna Herrod of Georgia, and Niresta Gordon of Texas: sons; Glenwood Greenidge of St. Croix, Wendell Greenidge of N.C., Henry Parker of La., Roland Gordon and Julian Gordon of St. Croix, Austin Gordon of N.J. and Jerome Gordon of N.Y.; son-in-law, Obrien Simmons; and daughters-in-law: Maxine Gordon, Jacqueline Greenidge and Valerie Williams Greenidge.
She is also survived by 65 grandchildren: Frances Elcock-Dunston, Edmond Jackson Jr., Patina Jackson, Devon Edwards, Gregory Simmonds, Kareem Greenidge, Kasimu Greenidge, Ahyahnnah Greenidge Hollis, Naima Greenidge, Kerisha Greenidge, Jordany Brown, Giovanni Greenidge , Akeem Greenidge, Zuberi Greenidge, Nini Greenidge Jackson, Oresha Greenidge, Raphael Greenidge Jr., Sharon Phillips, Jennell Peterson, Ebony Green-lee, Orin Herrod, DeMarco Herrod, Rodney Greenidge, Rena Greenidge, Wendell Greenidge Jr., Melissa Greenidge, Dwayne Greenidge, Nivea S. Greene, Michael l Drigo Jr., Austin Gordon Jr,. Alexandra Gordon, Chantelle Gordon, Charlene Pinsonneault , Chakeefe Gordon, Ronelle Gordon, Roland Gordon Jr., Philip Gordon, J’Nelle Gordon, Nichelle Gordon, Claynelle Gordon, Arnelle Gordon, Jah’Marley Gordon, Laurnelle Gordon, Julian Gordon Jr., Rachael Gordon, Tisha Gordon, Jahmanni Gordon, Jahbari Gordon, Johnno Gordon, Jahmari Gordon, Idesha Gordon and Tyron Parker Ebony Parker;
Other survivors include 61 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; Amiya Jenelle, Skye Davis, Jahmmari Ferguson, Mila Kreisel and Jaheln Redman; sister, Elma Elcock on St Croix; sister-in-law, Madona Hall of St Croix, a very special family friend; Marylin Greenidge who is mother of her grandchildren in N.J. (the family is keeping her in our prayers), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. May her soul rest in peace.
There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, at Church of God of Prophecy, No. 171 Richmond. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
