A decomposed human body was found Friday afternoon in a well in Estate Contentment, according to the V.I. Police Department.
At roughly 2:50 p.m. Friday, the 911 emergency call center received a report from a citizen of the discovery. Responding officers arrived at the site and came upon old, uncovered water well. The body was at the bottom of the well, which was approximately 25 to 30 feet deep and contained almost three feet of water.
St. Croix Rescue was summoned to the scene to assist in the extraction of the body.
VIPD detectives are investigating the matter.
