The committee will meet to hear testimony from the Department of Education, as well as from the teachers’ and administrators’ unions, providing a comprehensive update on the department’s activities, facilities and programs to include, but not limited to:
1) School environment and safety on campuses
2) Standardized testing and student achievements
3) Curriculum development and reform
4) Special Education
5) School lunch
6) Status of school facilities and the hiring of school maintenance workers
7) Compensation of teachers and other educational personnel
8) Status of federal funds and federally funded contracts

Committee on Homeland Security, Public Safety and Justice

Agenda:
The committee has scheduled a meeting to discuss the results of the Virgin Islands Police Department’s Assessment as conducted by T&M Protection Resources. The scope of the report reviews the deficiencies of the department’s practices, administrative and operational functions, and makes recommendations based on the findings.
