Woman Charged with High-Heel Assault

Kiwanda John was arrested and charged with assault Sunday after an altercation with another woman over a man, the V.I. Police Department said.
Officers were dispatched at roughly 5:42 a.m. Sunday to a residence in Estate Golden Rock to investigate the report of an assault. At the location, the officers met with the victim, a woman whose name was not released by authorities.
The victim told police she had been in her home with a male acquaintance when she suddenly heard someone hitting her vehicle that had been parked outside. She said she opened the front door and a woman, later identified as John, stepped onto the porch wielding a black, high-heeled shoe in her hand and barged into the living-room of the residence.
According to the victim, John accused her of sleeping with the male acquaintance, who was present, and then attacked her with the high-heeled shoe, hitting her along the left temple. A struggle ensued and the two women fell onto the couch, the victim said. At that point the male acquaintance forcibly pulled John off of the victim, pushed her out of the residence and shut the door, according to the report.
John was charged with third-degree assault. Bail was set at $25,000 and she was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her advice of rights hearing.
