Police Seek Vehicle Stolen from IRB Office

The V.I. Police Department is looking for a white Chevy Trailblazer apparently stolen Friday from the parking lot of the Internal Revenue Bureau located at Estate Diamond.
According to the VIPD, the 911 emergency call center received a report of property damage at the office Friday morning. Responding officers met with officials from the IRB, who told them the facility’s electrically operated fence had been damaged.
Officers noted the gate appeared to have been taken off its rail track, was slightly bent outwards and the chain link appeared to have been cut. The damage was large enough for a vehicle to have been driven through, police said.
The officers took the information and began to conduct an investigation into the matter but were dispatched back to the IRB by 911 at 12:27 p.m. regarding a stolen vehicle.
An employee of the Lieutenant Governor’s Office told police that on Thursday she’d parked the vehicle in the IRB’s parking lot at 2:45 p.m. When she arrived the following morning, it was gone, she told police.
Police asked anyone with information concerning this incident to contact 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
